According to Operation Gratitude's website, their mission is to "forge strong bonds between Americans and their Military and First Responder Heroes through volunteer service projects, acts of gratitude, and meaningful engagements in communities worldwide." This organization sends 300,000+ personalized care packages to deployed troops, military families, Veterans, First Responders, New Recruits, Wounded Heroes, & their Care Givers every year. Each of these packages contains items such as food products, letters of support, personal hygiene materials, and entertainment.
Según el sitio web de Operacion Gratitud, su misión es "formar fuertes lazos entre los estadounidenses y sus héroes militares y de primeros auxilios a través de proyectos de servicio comunitario, actos de gratitud y compromisos significativos en comunidades alrededor del mundo." Esta organización envía más de 300.000 cajas de ayuda personalizadas a tropas desplegadas, familias militares, veteranos, socorristas, nuevos reclutas, héroes heridos y sus cuidadores cada año. Cada uno de estos paquetes contiene artículos como productos alimenticios, cartas de apoyo, materiales de higiene personal y entretenimiento.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO CONTRIBUTE?

SNHS is hosting a drive to collect items for Operation Gratitude. Students are encouraged to bring in items that are individually packaged. The drive will end on Friday, October 30th and the box will be in the Learning Commons. Listed below are the items found on the wishlists of those we want to thank.
SNHS está organizando una campaña para recolectar artículos para la Operación Gratitud. Se anima a los estudiantes a que traigan artículos empaquetados individualmente. La campaña terminará el viernes 30 de octubre y la caja de recoleccion estara en la biblioteca. A continuación se enumeran los articulos que se encuentran en las listas de cosas deseadas de aquellos a quienes queremos agradecer.

Additionally, students can participate in the Letter of Appreciation campaign if unable to donate any items or to add to their donation. These letters and cards should generally be addressed "Dear Hero", but access the guidelines below to create the best correspondence possible. Physical completed letters should be turned in to the Drive's box and come in an unsealed envelope if inside one. Students can also create digital letters and turn them in online as well. Simply use Google Docs and share the finished letter with [email protected]. Or, students can go to https://www.veteransunited.com/operation-gratitude/ in order to submit a digital letter. All SNHS students wishing to receive hours for their creation of a letter need to send visual proof (a photo of the letter suffices), unless they go the route where they share it with Ms. Davis.

Además, los estudiantes pueden participar en la campaña de cartas de agradecimiento si no pueden donar algun artículo o si quieren agregarlo a su donación. Estas cartas y tarjetas generalmente deben empezar con "Estimado héroe", pero sigua las normas estipuladas a continuación para crear la mejor correspondencia posible. Cartas fisicas terminadas deberian de ser entregadas a la caja de recoleccion y venir en un sobre no sellado si adentro de un sobre. Los estudiantes también pueden crear cartas digitales y entregarlas en línea. Simplemente use Google Docs y comparta la carta terminada con [email protected]. Por el otro lado, los estudiantes pueden ir a https://www.veteransunited.com/operation-gratitude/ para enviar una carta digital. Todos los estudiantes de SNHS que deseen recibir horas por la creación de una carta deben enviar una prueba visual (una foto de la carta es suficiente), a menos que sigan la ruta en la que la comparten con la Sra. Davis.
